Prof. Piattelli, full professor of oral pathology, has and H-index of 66 and has coauthored more than 800 papers in international peer-reviewed Journals; most of these papers have dealt with Implant Dentistry and Biomaterials. AP has presented more than 80 International Lectures and about 500 Abstracts in International Meetings. His main research interests have been immediate loading, bone response to different biomaterials, bone response in human implants retrieved in several different clinical and anatomic conditions. In a recent paper (Tarazona et al. Clin Oral Implant Res 2017;28:864-870), Prof. Piattelli was rated the most productive author in the field of implant dentistry and he was placed in the number 1 position in the world. Another evaluation of experts in the field of Implant Dentistry has also found AP in the first position worldwide and and in the ranking of the Top Italian Scientists he is rated 1st in the area nanotechnology - medicine of Material & Nano Sciences.
